Day 4 // Joseph

Filled Up-Day4

Joseph

Blessed With Promotion

“So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.”  -Genesis 39:4 (ESV)

Genesis 37 – 50 tells the story of the many obstacles Joseph had to overcome to be the man God called him to be. It was not an easy journey for him, but he had the favor of God. Even though his brothers sold him out, Joseph was promoted in Egypt. Because he had the favor of God. Even though he was falsely accused and thrown into prison, he was promoted – because he gained favor with the prison warden. Even though he was not an Egyptian, Joseph was promoted to be Prime Minister of Egypt. Because he had the favor of God.

My friend, just because you are facing some obstacles does not mean that you don’t have the favor of God. The enemy tries to steal, kill and destroy, but God has the final word. Because you have His favor. In Joseph’s case, he ended up being reunited with his family, with blessings from both his earthly father and heavenly father.

Life Lesson: When you respond to life’s adversities with faith, forgiveness and fortitude, God’s responds with favor.

When Joseph responded to life’s adversities with faith, forgiveness and fortitude, God responded with favor.  When you do your part, God does His. It’s not about being lucky. I don’t believe in luck. I believe in God’s favor. I don’t need a lucky rabbit’s foot or a good luck charm.  All I need is the favor of God. And when I have the favor of God, I can overcome any obstacle life throw’s at me. God has a way of promoting me to the place He had lined out for me.

QUESTION TO THINK ABOUT: What character qualities did Joseph exhibit that resulted in the favor of God?

PRAYER POINT: Pray that you would respond to life challenges with a Godly attitude.

ACTION POINT: Follow the example of Joseph and Jesus: Forgive anyone who has hurt you.
