As For Me And My House – Gilbert

When I was a little kid, my mother planted spiritual seeds by getting down on her knees and praying. She went to church on Sundays and communion class. When I was 16, I started drinking beer. For a long time, I would finish high school and drink beer. And I would drink beer on the weekends. Got married at age 19.  Drinking every day. At age 27, I got into a lot of trouble. 3 DWIs, fighting, jail time. I was not a good father, son or husband. My wife left me with my son. From age 16 through 30, I prayed to God to take my troubles away.

On July 30, 1990, I went to rehab stayed 4 ½ months there, I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God, as we understood God there. I wrote a letter about God and how He was in my life.

I went to Fortress Church 8 years ago and Jesus became more to me. My pastor talks a lot about Jesus, so I got baptized and know Jesus Christ is my Savior.

Core Values:    Character, Courage, Spirituality, Respect, Forgiveness

Life Verse:    Joshua 24:15  “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”   I like this verse because it starts my morning to respect the house, that I will be blessed by Father God, Jesus my Savior and the Holy Spirit.
